  • My work with Josh this semester really set me on a better path for future success. Josh went above and beyond my expectations as an AD coach, by not only supporting me by offering time/work management strategies but also with encouragement and emotional support. The success I've had with strategies this semester has made me more optimistic about future self development, and has encouraged me to continue working on myself and developing habits that are conducive to my happiness and success.

  • Until I met Josh through Carnegie Mellon’s Academic coaching program, I thought the term coach should only be applied to sports coaches. Since, working with Josh, I realized that we all need coaches who will support us and challenge us to become our best selves. I would recommend Josh to anyone looking to improve their academic, professional, and professional lives.

  • Josh is always understanding, attentive, and action oriented as I discussed some of the issues and disappointments I was/am facing. Talking through some of these issues brought some of the finer points to light through his questions and suggestions for improvements. I appreciate the work Josh has done with me. He really took the extra step to care about me as a person and not only help me be successful academically but also be successful on a personal level.

  • Through their diligence, tenacity and unwavering commitment to elevating design as a capability throughout MITRE, they were able to clearly articulate where and how Design thinking can be applied both internal and external to MITRE. Additionally, Josh, Jay and Kaylee have set a path for establishing a new TCA, which includes demonstrating the need, articulating the initiatives, gathering funding, and building and leading a team. Congratulations, you have truly blazed a new trail.

    – MITRE Director

  • Thank you for supporting the MITRE and Our Work Innovation Workshops. With your help, our new employees were able to experience and learn about MITRE's Innovation, why innovation is important, the tools they can use to innovate for the important work that we do to solve problems for a safer world.

    – MITRE SVP

  • I would like to recognize Josh’s strong and competent efforts to bringing the Design Sprint training to MITRE. With this new capability and expertise, the HCD group will have a new tool to engage partners to quickly identify an actionable solution to their biggest challenges. The Design Sprint capability will help bolster our position as leaders in the HCD community.

    – MITRE Project Lead

  • Josh took a risk in exploring a space that you may not have had expertise - and used your experience to understand the problem and next steps in novel ways. You adapted your research based on your insights and worked together as a team to formulate clear conclusions and actionable recommendations. From this effort, you have set forth the foundation needed for MITRE to make a substantial impact in 2022.

    – MITRE Research VP

  • Congratulations to Josh for providing innovative solutions and for taking smart risks for an interactive Sponsor Acquisition Playbook project. Josh introduced the MITRE team and the sponsor to new tools and techniques for data collection and analysis. He also taught us new methods for effective remote collaboration. Josh's impact is high reaching and has helped us to meet our goals for engagement and outstanding delivery!

    – MITRE Project Lead

  • I would like to recognizing Josh for his tremendously valuable input into contractual documents for FY23 follow-on work for Strategic Foresight work with our sponsor. The sponsor evolved its mind several times on the work’s direction, and the team had to work quickly to adapt. This work was done on top of additional responsibilities and required quick-turn responses. Josh was an integral member in shaping what the work would entail and its execution. Without Josh on the agile team of five working to understand the sponsor’s FY23 needs, seamlessly piecing together this and next year's work & quickly adjusting to regularly changing sponsor requirements, we wouldn't have met the contract deadline & expectations. If the current contract is approved, it will be nearly triple the size of the current year's work. This is a testament to Josh's work with the MITRE team on the current work & his thinking on future sponsor impact. Thank you, Josh!!

    – MITRE Biz Development Lead

  • I came to Academic Development for help with time management; so that, I could reduce my stress level in the latter half of the semester. This was especially important to me as I was returning from a leave of absence after being treated for mental illness. Furthermore, I didn't have a great history with time management. Josh helped me a lot by showing me strategies to plan for assignments coming up many days in advance, to make plans specific to each day, to take study breaks for just the right amount of time, and to maintain my motivation in difficult situations. Since I have a history of bad time management habits, it's taking time for me to adopt the strategies I've learned in Academic Development but I'm steadily getting better at doing so. I see the potential in them and I'm hopeful I'll be able to maintain these new habits by continuing to work with Josh. I already see a growth in my current productivity and the impact it has in the long term.

  • Josh thank you for your exceptional support on the TIM. With little notice, Josh flew to Utah to help facilitate two full days of a workshop with about dozens of participants from several organizations. A DoD sponsor, after reading more about MITRE's Innovation Toolkit on itk.mitre.org, requested MITRE's support in planning and facilitating a workshop to plan and prepare a roadmap for a critical effort. With only a couple of weeks to prepare, Josh exemplified leadership and professionalism throughout, developing trust with the sponsor and participants.
